Rough-Duty Ball Nose Inserts for Demanding Light Roughing & Finishing Applications
We are pleased to announce an addition to our well-established and respected Ball Nose finishing line: RDBN inserts for heavier-duty ball nose cutting. If you are tasked with heavier ball nose cuts, long tool overhangs or tougher materials, these are the inserts for you. They're a great fit for many moldmaking applications.
- Made from a tougher, more shock-resistant carbide grade
- Ground using stronger cutting edge geometry with a helical entry
- Achieve greater resistance to chipping and fracturing in more abusive applications than our standard BNR and HBN inserts can provide
- All RDBN inserts fit existing standard BNEM cutter bodies – no new investment in bodies is necessary!
RDBN inserts are available now from .500" to 1.000" dia., in two new coatings: TS for general-purpose machining in most steels, irons, and 400-series stainless steel; and HM for hardened steels, high-temperature alloys, and tough 300-series and PH stainless steels.
