HydraVise Features & Benefits

HydraVise

  1. Massive Back Jaw is part of the vise base, not screwed or doweled on. Assures least jaw deflection possible.
  2. Replaceable hardened and ground jaw plates. Large variety of special jaw plates available, including Vee-, Serrated and Pull-Down Jaws.
  3. Movable jaw assembly protects and encloses lead screw. Accurately ground setup surface behind removable jaw plate. Facilitates checking of workpiece.
  4. Self-contained, high-pressure differential power mechanism. Available in hydraulic, mechanical and air-hydraulic.
  5. Removable crank handle is standard equipment for all vises. No crank extension necessary.
  6. Shoulder on high-pressure mechanical and hydraulic spindles limits pressure to the designed maximum. No overloading of system possible.
  7. Pressure indication rings on hydra-spindle facilitate graduated pressure setting. Each ring indicates one additional ton of pressure.
  8. Two hardened and ground steel cross pins allow instant adjustment of the movable jaw to the small or large clamping range. Jaw assembly may be pulled off the guideways to facilitate cleaning the vise; also makes larger vises easier to lift and move.
  9. ProVise has a narrow base style for close spacing of vises side-by-side. Ledge facilitates clamping to machine table.
  10. Strong l-beam design and flame-hardened ways make for the sturdiest base possible.

Up to 15 inches between jaws

Self-Centering Vise for Universal Machining

Self-Centering Vise for Universal Machining

Dapra has introduced a new line of self-centering vises for universal machining.

Two models, the SC-125 and the SC-090, are specifically designed to meet the demands of workholding on 5-axis milling machines. The new high-precision vises are compact, tall and self-centering.

Parts are being held high above the vise bed, which gives the machine tool spindle access to virtually all sides of a workpiece. The self-centering feature allows all coordinates of the workpiece to be programmed from a common reference point.

Both vises are very compact and will fit into most of today's smaller 5-axis milling machines. The Dapra SC-125 has a width of 4.9" (125mm) and is only 13.8" (350mm) long, but can cold parts up to 10.78" (274mm). The smaller SC-090 has a jaw width of 3.9" (90mm), a length of 9.8" (250mm) and holds parts up to 7.5" (192mm). Both vises have a repeatability of .0004" and accuracy of ±0.001.

The spindle is designed to obtain clamping forces from 4000 to 8000 lbs.
